What is up there
An 18 metre lap pool held at 29°C, two hot pools on the deck at 38°C, a sauna, a cold plunge and three treatment rooms. Named for the bay along the western shore.
Pools, sauna and plunge are free to hotel guests from 6am to 9pm. Treatments are charged and booked. On a still winter evening the outdoor pools are the better half of the floor, which is why they are heated year round and cleared of snow before 6am.

Therapists are employed by the hotel rather than contracted in. Products are New Zealand made and are sold at the desk at the price the maker sets.
Before you come up
- Treatments are booked at reception or on +64 3 442 6194. In the ski season, book at the same time as the room.
- Cancellation inside four hours is charged at half; a missed appointment is charged in full.
- Under-16s may use the lap pool until 6pm with an adult, and not after.
- The hot pools, sauna and plunge are 16 and over at all hours.
- Treatments are 16 and over, and 18 and over without a parent present.
- Towels and robes are in the changing rooms. Bring your own swimwear.
- No glass on the pool deck and no phones in the changing rooms.
- Day passes for non-residents: NZ$45, subject to numbers, weekdays only.
Pools and a Treatment
Two nights in a Bay Room with breakfast, full access to the pools on both days, and one 50-minute treatment each, from NZ$586. The treatment slot is chosen when the package is booked rather than assigned on arrival.
After a day on the hill
Coronet Peak is thirty minutes away and The Remarkables forty. The drying room next to the changing rooms holds forty pairs of boots and runs warm from June to September. Ski and board storage is at the same door, racked and tagged, at no charge.
The hot pools are open until 9pm, which is after the last bus down from either mountain.
