These terms apply to every booking accepted by Watermark Point Hotels Ltd, NZBN 9429047318265, of 41 Peninsula Road, Kelvin Heights, Queenstown 9300, Otago, New Zealand, trading as Watermark Point Hotel. Making a booking means accepting them.

1. Booking
1.1 A booking exists once we have confirmed it in writing, and not before. An enquiry sent through this website is not a booking and does not hold a room.
1.2 The lead guest must be 18 or over and is responsible for the whole party and for the account.
1.3 Rates are quoted in New Zealand dollars and include GST at 15 per cent. There is no resort fee, cleaning fee or booking fee.
1.4 A valid card is required to hold a room. Where an advance-purchase rate is booked, the full amount is taken at the time of booking.
2. Deposits and payment
2.1 Flexible rates take nothing until arrival. Advance-purchase rates take the full amount at the time of booking. Packages take one night as a deposit.
2.2 Peak-season stays of four nights or more take a deposit of 30 per cent at the time of booking.
2.3 Card surcharges are 1.9 per cent on Visa and Mastercard and 2.7 per cent on American Express, shown before the transaction completes.
2.4 A pre-authorisation of NZ$150 per room may be taken on arrival against incidentals, and is released on departure.
3. Cancellation and changes
3.1 Flexible rates cancel or change free of charge up to 24 hours before the 3pm arrival time. Inside that window, one night is charged.
3.2 Advance-purchase rates are not refundable, not transferable and not changeable.
3.3 Packages cancel free of charge up to seven days before arrival; inside that, the deposit is forfeited.
3.4 Peak-season stays of four nights or more cancel free of charge up to 21 days before arrival; inside that, the deposit is forfeited.
3.5 Early departure does not reduce the amount payable for a confirmed booking.
3.6 Groups of five rooms or more run on a separate written agreement, which prevails over this clause.
3.7 Where we have to cancel — because of damage, a service failure or an event outside our control — we refund in full and, where we can, place you in comparable accommodation nearby at our cost.
4. Arrival and departure
4.1 Check-in from 3pm. Check-out by 10am. The front desk is staffed 24 hours, so no notice is needed for a late arrival.
4.2 Late check-out to 2pm is NZ$70 subject to the day, and is included in a Peninsula Suite rate.
4.3 Luggage is held before check-in and after check-out at no charge and at your own risk.
5. In the building
5.1 The building is entirely smoke-free and vape-free, including balconies and terraces. A cleaning charge of NZ$350 applies where this is breached.
5.2 Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am.
5.3 The number of people sleeping in a room may not exceed the stated capacity.
5.4 Parties in guest rooms are not permitted. The hire spaces exist for that purpose.
5.5 Assistance dogs are welcome throughout. Other dogs are accepted in eight ground-floor Garden Rooms at NZ$45 per stay, arranged in advance, and may not be left alone in a room.
5.6 Damage beyond fair wear is charged at cost. We will show you the invoice.
5.7 We may end a stay without refund where conduct endangers or seriously disturbs other guests or staff.
6. The casino floor
6.1 The Walter Peak Room is operated under the Gambling Act 2003 and is restricted to people aged 20 and over. Photo identification is required at the door.
6.2 Gaming takes place on the premises only. Watermark Point Hotels Ltd offers no remote gaming, no sports betting and no gambling over the internet, and nothing on this website can be staked.
6.3 Gaming is never charged to a room or event account, never extended on credit and never advanced against a card.
6.4 Gaming credit issued with a package is not transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, does not carry over to a later stay, and expires at the end of that stay.
6.5 The duty manager may refuse entry or require a person to leave the floor, and does not have to give a reason.
6.6 Self-exclusion is available on request, free and confidential, as set out on the Host Responsibility page.
7. Alcohol
7.1 Alcohol is served under an on-licence to people aged 18 and over, with identification required from anyone who appears to be under 25.
7.2 Nobody who is intoxicated is served, and nobody who is intoxicated is admitted to the casino floor.
7.3 Alcohol not bought on the premises may not be consumed in public areas. Corkage in The Greenstone Room is NZ$25 a bottle.
8. Liability
8.1 Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where you deal with us as a consumer.
8.2 Where you book in trade, the Consumer Guarantees Act is contracted out of to the extent the Act allows.
8.3 We are not liable for loss of property left in a room, a vehicle or a public area, except where caused by our negligence. Valuables should go in the room safe or be lodged at the desk.
8.4 We are not liable for the acts of a third-party operator you book through us — a transfer, a water taxi, a cellar-door day — beyond arranging it accurately.
8.5 Parking is free and unattended, and vehicles are left at the owner’s risk.
9. Events outside our control
9.1 Where performance is prevented by an event outside our reasonable control — earthquake, flood, fire, storm, a public health order, an interruption to power or water — obligations are suspended and any amount paid for services not delivered is refunded.
10. Website
10.1 Content on this website is provided in good faith and may change without notice. Rates displayed are indicative until confirmed in writing.
10.2 Text, photographs and the marks used here belong to Watermark Point Hotels Ltd or are used under licence, and may not be reproduced without permission.
11. Complaints
11.1 Raise it with the duty manager while you are here, where it can usually be fixed on the spot. Otherwise write to [email protected]. Written complaints are answered within five working days.
12. Law
12.1 These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
12.2 If any clause is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
