Satellite navigation finds 41 Peninsula Road without trouble. The entrance is the second one along, past the shore-path car park, marked with a schist wall.

The water taxi
The jetty at the end of Peninsula Road is a five-minute walk from the door. From there the crossing to Queenstown Bay takes about ten minutes and lands at the main pier, a hundred metres from the top of the mall.
The service is run by an operator on the lake, not by the hotel. It runs roughly hourly from 8am to 10pm from November to April, and on a reduced winter timetable. The current timetable and fare are on the board at reception, and the front desk will phone ahead so a boat waits rather than leaves.
In a southerly the crossing is called off, and the road is the answer instead. That happens perhaps a dozen times a year.
Driving and parking
From the airport and from central Queenstown, take State Highway 6A to Frankton, then Peninsula Road around the head of Frankton Arm. Nine minutes from the airport, twelve from the town centre.
Parking is on site and free: 48 open bays, 6 covered, and 2 with EV chargers on a first-come basis. There is no permit and no charge, including for guests using the restaurant, the bar or the casino floor without staying the night.
Coach parking on the north side of the car court takes two full-size vehicles. Chains are carried in the hotel shuttle from June, and the road onto the peninsula is gritted by the council but not closed.
Getting picked up
- Airport transfer — NZ$28 per car each way, up to four people, with 24 hours of notice. We meet scheduled arrivals.
- Town shuttle — free for guests, on the hour from 8am to 10pm in summer and on request in winter.
- Ski shuttle — to Coronet Peak and The Remarkables in season, booked the night before at the desk.
- Taxis — called from the front desk at any hour, five to ten minutes to arrive.
- Public bus — the Orbus route serves Kelvin Heights; the nearest stop is 300 m along Peninsula Road.
Queenstown Airport
Six point four kilometres away at Frankton, nine minutes by road. Direct flights come in from Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Rental desks are in the terminal. In fog, arrivals divert to Invercargill or Christchurch; if that happens, call the front desk and we will hold the room without charge and rebook the transfer.
