A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. This site uses very few of them, and the two optional ones do nothing until you say so.

The categories

Essential — always on

These make the site work. Without them the age confirmation would appear on every page and the cookie panel would never stop asking. They set no identifier that follows you anywhere else, and they cannot be switched off.

pt.age.okLocal storageRecords that the age question has been answered. Kept until you clear your browser.
pt.consentLocal storageRecords the choice made in the cookie panel, and the date of it. Kept until you clear your browser or change the choice.
PHPSESSIDSession cookieSet by the server while a form is being submitted. Deleted when the browser closes.

Analytics — off unless you switch it on

Anonymous counts of which pages are opened, for how long, and roughly from where. Used to decide which pages need rewriting. Addresses are truncated before storage, and nothing is joined to a booking or an enquiry.

Analytics counterUp to 13 monthsPage views, session length, referring site, truncated location. Not set until consent is given.

Marketing — off unless you switch it on

Tells us whether an advertisement led to an enquiry. We do not run behavioural retargeting and we do not sell audiences to anyone.

Campaign attributionUp to 90 daysRecords that a visit followed a particular advertisement. Not set until consent is given.

Choosing

The panel appears on a first visit with three buttons: Accept all, Reject all and Cookie settings. Rejecting all leaves the essential entries in place and sets nothing else. The settings view lets you switch analytics and marketing independently.

To change your mind later, use the cookie icon in the corner of any page. The panel reopens with your current choice already shown, and saving replaces the old record immediately.

Consent is asked for again after twelve months, or sooner if we add a category.

Your browser

Every browser can block or delete cookies and local storage from its settings. Blocking the essential entries will mean the age question appears on every page, but the site will still work otherwise.

Third parties

This site loads no fonts, scripts, maps, videos or advertising from another domain. Everything it needs is served from watermarkpoint.com, which means no third party can set a cookie through these pages. Where a page links out — to a helpline, to the regulator — that site sets its own cookies under its own notice.
